About
About our – personal safety and conflict resolution training.
Providing a practical approach to training:
Brooks Jordan was set up over 20 years ago in response to demand from the medical profession for personal safety courses which weren’t ‘self defence’ courses. Over time, we have added to the range of subjects that we teach and now offer both accredited (courses with qualifications provided through awarding bodies such as City & Guilds, Highfield, CIEH Skills for Security etc) and in house bespoke programmes designed to meet your specific needs. We specialise in teaching conflict resolution, communication skills, personal safety, breakaway skills and physical intervention training. We have also widened our client base and now deliver a wide range of programmes to organisations of all types and sizes working nationwide.
Our Personal Safety & Conflict Resolution trainers
If you want to learn from trainers who have dealt with real-life conflict situations and have first-hand experience of successfully managing verbal and physical aggression then you need to look no further. This makes Brooks Jordan uniquely placed to pass on our wealth of skills and techniques to your staff. We believe that it’s our dynamic ‘hands-on’ approach that makes our courses so rewarding and enjoyable for delegates. As a result, we’ve gained an enviable reputation for providing high quality, innovative training in personal safety, conflict management and disengagement/ breakaway skills.
And because all of our team members have worked in the relevant professional fields and have both the relevant sector experience and qualification e.g. the NHS, police force, private security industry or local authority, you can be confident that our course material is always up to date and based on the very latest research and methods.
Our vision
We aim to give people the skills they need to deal with adverse situations proactively, safely and effectively. We want our courses to interest, motivate and inspire delegates. By making a positive impact, we will give them the confidence and knowledge to manage conflict successfully avoiding the need to resort to force. And because we know that most of our delegates aren’t used to confronting violence, we always deliver our training in a calm and reflective manner.
Experience – there’s no substitute for it
All Brooks Jordan staff draw on their substantial knowledge and expertise, gained from their working backgrounds. All of our lead trainers have worked in law enforcement, the security sector, local government, health & Safety enforcement etc. Our trainers are not just highly qualified but also have over 30 years of experience in teaching courses in personal safety, conflict resolution, self-defence and physical interventions.
Each member of our team is always up to date on the latest theories, methods and rules that surround our core subject areas. So you’ll never be taught outdated material at Brooks Jordan and you won’t be trained by anyone who doesn’t have first-hand, real-life experience of dealing with violence and aggression.
